......but I did meet some travelling Italians, Vincenzo, Sebastion and Enrico.
Hi family, I'm in Townsville today, having decided to bugger off from Bowen. The wind was relentless, and most unpleasant at the camp spot. The Bowen highlight was having the 3 Italian boys camped next door. They are travelling Australia, and are at present picking capsicums near Bowen, and have been doing so for 5 weeks. Funny guys, and lots of tales about their trip, as well as some mutual stories about Italy. In return for me lending them some tools to work on their van, Vincenzo cooked up a pasta one night. For a camp oven effort it was great, and as usual for Italian food, simple preparation but delicious.
I plan to stay here till Saturday, then probably head just up the coast to Balgal Beach, which appears to face north and be out of the BLUDDY wind. Townsville is nice, altho it seems odd to be amongst normal people doing "normal" things, like jogging along the very pleasant beach front Strand, and buying takeaway coffee after their swim in the stinger netted enclosure........which is exactly what I did maself this morning :) Soooooo nice to have a swim !
Went shopping yesterday to buy some new duds, of necessity, cos I have lost a bit of my waistline (a good thing), and was getting over ma pants falling down all the time. I also ordered a "fold up" trailer for the tinnie today, mainly cos I am finding it too restrictive finding camp spots with a boat ramp within boat pushing distance. It will allow me to tow the boat on a public road, and opens up the options greatly. Pick it up tomorrow.
Braddles, I seem to have sorted the "comments" issue with the blog (found out how to turn it on in the settings page). I'll see wot happens, so some comments please, however irrelevant they may be :)
I'm blogged out now, so luv to ya's all, and look forward to phone chats soon xoxoxoxo
