..... a quiet beer with new friends at Stanage Bay
...... beach at Camilla, pretty bluddy windy !

Hi family, at last got ma head around loading pics on the blog.
Spent a great week at Stanage Bay, 100km of dirt road in, but worth the effort, and a great free camping spot. Met some really nice people, John and Karen from Bris, and Phil and Pat, who were house sitting for friends at Stanage. No fish and no boating, cos it was blowing ya tits off.

We did spend a few hours one day making a "bush camp oven", shown in the pic. Very technical......ya need to cut the top off a gas bottle and drill holes all round, Phil had all the tools we needed, so it was a pleasant joint effort.

I am now at Camilla Beach, second pic, but plan to pull up stumps tomorrow and head to Smalleys Beach, just north of Mackay.

Life is good, and 'vanning is enjoyable. I get a special feeling being able to stand on a deserted beach at night, no lights, and gaze up at the night sky. It seems to give a sort of significance to what I am doing.

Need to post this, cos the 'puter battery is about to conk.

Love to all, and keep in touch :)
